Current Submission Guidelines

Before submitting, please ensure your manuscript aligns with our current needs and formatting requirements:

  • Genres Currently Accepting: Literary Fiction, Mystery/Thriller, Historical Fiction, Memoirs, and select Narrative Non-Fiction.
  • Formatting Requirements: Your manuscript should be double-spaced, in a standard 12-point font (e.g., Times New Roman or Garamond), with 1-inch margins.
  • File Type: Please submit your manuscript as a single .DOCX or .PDF file.
  • What to Include:
    • Query Letter: A one-page letter introducing yourself, your manuscript, and why you believe it's a good fit for Quill & Ink.
    • Synopsis: A concise (1-2 page) overview of your story, including beginning, middle, and end.
    • Manuscript Sample: The first three chapters or up to 50 pages of your complete manuscript, whichever is less.
  • How to Submit: Please email your complete submission to [email protected]. Ensure your subject line clearly states "MS Submission: [Your Manuscript Title]".
  • Multiple Submissions: Please do not submit more than one manuscript at a time. Wait for a response to your current submission before sending another.

Our dedicated acquisitions team will carefully review your submission to ensure it meets our guidelines and assess its initial alignment with our publishing vision. We look for strong concepts and compelling voices.

Should your manuscript pique our interest, promising submissions are advanced to our senior editorial board for an in-depth consideration and discussion. This involves careful reading and evaluation by multiple experts.

We strive to respond to all submissions within 8-12 weeks. Please understand that due to the high volume of manuscripts we receive, this timeframe can occasionally extend. We appreciate your patience during this period.

If your manuscript is selected, we will contact you directly to discuss the next steps, including a potential offer for a publishing contract and a detailed plan for editorial development, design, and marketing.
